In a perfect world, software would be bug free. And in the same perfect world, you would be able to describe a problem to us with just a few words. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, and bugs are a reality of software development. In order for us to be able to address them in a timely fashion, we need your help, and we've done our best to ...
The plugin won't launch. Why? The first time OnSync launches the screen sharing plugin, you will be presented with a dialog that asks you to accept the execution of the plugin. The best thing to do is to put a check inside the "remember my choice" checkbox and to press the button to accept the application to launch. On a Windows XP computer running Fi...
To view and share a screen, you will need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. To share your screen, you will also need a plugin which you will prompted to install once you try to share your screen. Please refer to http://www.digitalsamba.com/technical-specifications [http://www.digitalsamba.com/technical-specifications] for details regarding the...
Our linux application sharing driver is currently in experimental status. It requires configuration as outlined in the attached PDF "How to get Appshare running on linux + known issues.pdf" and has limitations such as not allowing selection of individual applications or individual windows such as our Windows and OS X versions. That said, sharng the enti...
No, a stream is broadcasted to all the people in the session.
No, we had to disable these controls due to technical difficulties with the permissions model that we apply to different users.
Yes, it is possible to remote control a users screen. Please refer to page 20 in the user manual http://www.digitalsamba.com/sites/default/files/OnSync-Manual-AccountHolders-and-Moderators.pdf [http://www.digitalsamba.com/sites/default/files/OnSync-Manual-AccountHolders-and-Moderators.pdf]
No, they can't. Screen-sharing, content sharing and every interaction you make in an OnSync room during a meeting is visible for all attendees. The only exception are the _"Private Chat"_ messages. If you don't want to share your entire screen, choose an option such as _"Share Computer Programs"_ or _"Share selected Windows"_. Then any potentially priv...
You can do this by following the steps below: 1) Open your Media Library in the session (top bar) and select/add a image file from your computer by clicking the black plus button. It will then be added to your "Media Library" and will be converted for you. You can open it in the content viewer via double click. 2) Once the image displays, you should c...
Yes, you can allow guests to take control. By default this function is turned off for participants but you can do two things: 1. Click on the user icon in the participants list and set their permissions. In the "Content Share" option you can allow them to control other's screens. 2. Click on the user in the participants list and change its role from...
We are currently fixing some bugs. For Mountain Lion, you can currently only use the "_Entire Desktop_" option. We will address this problem once we complete the second major iteration of the application sharing plugin. Unfortunately, we still cannot give an estimated time frame for completing this feature.
Moderators of a session can change other users' role to promote or demote users and thereby control the access level they have to certain features in the room. In OnSync we call the level of access to features "permissions". A moderator can also modify a particular user's permissions individually. This feature is very powerful and quite advanced. The p...

NOTE: SUGGESTIONS IN THIS ARTICLE REQUIRE ADVANCED LEVEL OF COMPUTER USAGE AND ARE TO BE REGARDED AS EXPERIMENTAL AND NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED BY ONSYNC AND THE DIGITAL SAMBA STAFF. In some cases, when sharing your screen to users that have very low download bandwidth, or if your own upload bandwidth is very limited (below 500kbit) you can take the fo...
Yes, you can integrate pen and touch tablets with OnSync (like the "Bamboo Pen and Touch [http://www.wacom.com/en/us/creative/intuos-s]" tablet.) The pen and tablet will act similar to a mouse, so the same way you can draw on the whiteboard with the mouse you can use the pen.
The difference between "SHARING COMPUTER PROGRAMS" and "SHARING WINDOWS" is that "SHARING COMPUTER PROGRAMS" will share all the windows of the selected applications, whereas with "SHARING WINDOWS" you can pick just a single window. Using Power Point as an example, let's say you have FileA.pptx and FileB.ppt open. If you choose to share computer program...
This is likely related to bandwidth and connectivity between your location and our servers. You can run http://systemcheck.digitalsamba.com [http://systemcheck.digitalsamba.com] to test your connectivity to our servers. Using a feature like “SELECTED WINDOW” and making the window smaller on your own screen will transmit less bandwidth. We a...
This is happening because you chose either share computer programs or share windows. If part of the computer program or window you are sharing is overlapped by any other application, including OnSync, it will not be shared to make sure to protect your privacy. Avoid overlapping the computer program or window you are sharing.
No, this option is not possible. We used to have that setting as default, then many customers complained that the screen was too small or appeared distorted to them, so we moved back to the setting we have now. We have now added a big orange indicator when screen share starts so that viewers can quickly switch to their preferred setting.
In version 4.2.5, there is a problem with certain screen configurations. If your primary screen is "screen 2" and you position "screen 2" to the right of "screen 1", then appshare will have a problem sharing "screen 2" and will exit after a few seconds. This is because appshare cannot successfully determine the layout. In the same configuration, a rel...
We have two major improvements to AppShare in version 4.3.7 - however they are not yet connected to the UI of the platform so they have to be set via the config file. Connection to the UI is planned for an upcoming version. Once set, the parameters don't have to be edited again until the plug-in is reinstalled. This article tells you how to edit the C...
